The Things a 21 Month Old Will Do

I feel like I let a few things get away from me in the midst of enjoying life with Tyson. For instance, I have done a really bad job at a baby book of any sort and tracking milestones BUT I do love looking back at pictures and sweet little moments that we capture. I wanted to write a few things down before our sweet boy turns 18 before our eyes.

CURRENT FUN FACTS

Unlike most Midwesterners this winter, Tyson loves the snow. The thing that has been killing us is the freezing temps. However, if there is a will, there's certainly a way. We will watch the snowplows go by, play outside (actually take about 30 minutes to get bundled up, then play outside for a little less time than that), bring the snow inside to touch and mold or go sledding with Dad. 

SLEEP
He has always been a little stinker when it comes to napping but lately he has crashed for a solid two hour nap which leaves him (and me) both very satisfied. He usually goes to bed between 8-9pm and wakes up around 6:30 or 7. He got a his need for very little sleep from his Dad and his light sleeping from me - we'll wait and see how that combo works later on. We will soon be making the transition to his 'big boy' bed.

FOOD 
Tyson also loves to help out in the kitchen or just be in the kitchen. We have made our fair share of goodies lately (c'mon, it was Valentine's day), he will scoot his little chair right up to the counter to help. He knows to stay away from anything that we say is "hot". He is still a pretty good eater, he just doesn't like to take the time out of his adventure filled day to eat. Some days, he will eat really well. Others it is hit or miss.

He doesn't like meat too much. He loves pasta, cheese, raspberries (but he calls them bu-berries), avocados, oranges and Annie's bunnies. He also just started drinking juice which I think he likes to say more than drink. I am going to try smoothies to infuse a little more veggies/fruit in all of our diets - let's be honest, this time of year around here, yummy produce is hard to come by. He says that most things with flavor are, "MMmm. Spicy!"

TALKING

Tyson is a chatter box. From the time he wakes up to the time he goes to sleep. He will talk, talk, talk. He has always loved animals and animal noises and now he loves making noises for his trucks. He has so many things that I wish he would just say over & over. He does pretty well with names of our family and friends. He also knows quite a few sports especially since Dad has been watching a lot of Olympic hockey. He also tells Myles to "sit down", it's funny but a bit bossy. 

Iluvu, bu-BYE-eye, No No De-Bo (Auntie Jamee taught him that), Myle (yep, our dog without the s), Uh-oh Mommy, Dyshin Raw (his name, he combines Ryan and Shaw), Mommy Watch!, Elfant, Ace (Derek and Jamee's dog), Abbie & Ellie (he talks about them a lot), Toffee (he will pull out our Bubba Keg and carry it around with his two little hand thinking he is drinking coffee), he also says "Bess You" after a sneeze, cough or a good laugh. 

FAVORITE THINGS TO DO 

Tyson is all boy. Period. He loves to run, jump, climb, throw objects, throw himself on our beds, etc. He still loves to watch the garbage truck go by every Wednesday and he will say "more" when it leaves. He likes to dance with his fingers pointed up. His favorite songs are What Does the Fox Say and Wheels on the Bus (he calls it Round and Round). Speaking of Up that is his current favorite movie. He loves to play with his choo-choos, legos and tinker toys. He likes to color and use his Aqua Doodle but with that he would rather tell you what to draw. He loves to run, jump and sit on his new chair (pictured above) from Mimi and Papa. He has recently gotten into his stuffed animals (Pete the Cat and Snoopy are his favorite). He will bring them along on car rides or lug them around the house. He also loves to play Hide and Seek. I am much more startled than this kid ever gets, ha! 

UPCOMING FUN

We are in the process of using Tyson's potty so I guess you can say we are casually introducing the idea. He has gone a couple of times but it's definitely a work in progress until we decided to pull out the big guns and potty train. Tyson, my Mom and I are going to AZ again this Spring to visit our family. It's hard to have miles between us but being able to see everyone a few times a year sure makes it more bearable - not to mention the change in weather will be nice. Then of course, around the corner is Easter and little man's 2nd Birthday.
