In late July, we took a little time off to enjoy the city of Chicago. Every time we go to Chicago we seem to have plans to visit people, to go to a game or a show. This time we were still able to meet up with our friends but we also spent some time simply enjoying what the city has to offer.
Friday night, we ate at a great little BBQ restaurant, Smoke House, with some friends from Iowa City. The next day we walked around exploring the streets of Chi-town. We also went on the highly recommended Architectural river tour, followed by a visit to the new Modern Art wing of the Art Institute. We stopped at a few places to grab snacks along the way. We then walked through Millennium Park on our route back to the car. Saturday night, we met up with Teresa at a little Italian restaurant where we treated ourselves to yummy pasta and great wine.
I do enjoy the activities of the city but I also enjoy taking the time to take in the 'tourist' attractions. We had a fun weekend away and as always it was nice to come home to our own place and Myles.
